Honey, I'm Home!

Hey honey!

We did it! 12 hours, one cramped car ride, and four enthusiastic passengers hopped in the car and made the journey-took the risk- of following our hearts to the one place it's always been: California!

Over the weekend, my mom, myself, and my two long haired doxies packed our car with all of our most precious possessions and took off on a rather exciting excavation across the country! ... Okay, so maybe it wasn't across the country, per say, but it sure did feel like it!

My poor pups were confined to the backseat on top a pile of blankets and pillows, having to make do with whatever space they could get! They must have gotten carsick at some point because they started getting closer and closer toward the front of the car. That middle section between the two front seats with the armrest in the middle, yeah, well Charlie, the younger one, was practically glued to it the whole time! This was his first road trip and I don't think he enjoyed it too much- he whined the whole time. Well, except for maybe the last 30 minutes! ... Of course, he was sitting in my lap by that time. Was the only way we could get him to be quiet!

Other than the puppas (a word my mom made up. Meaning: pups, dogs, sweet angels of god- depends on the content) the trip was pretty relaxing. We traveled mainly through the desert part of California and Arizona on our first day and watched it gradually get greener as we passed over the border. Oh yes, and by the way, when passing over the California border in Blythe, they are rather concerned with fruit. That's right, I said fruit. We pulled up and the first question they asked was if we had any fruit with us. Both my mom and I had to have him repeat himself because fruit- really? If you have any explanation for this odd inquiry, please leave it in the comment section below, or do you think we just had an odd security guard?

Anyways, first day was mostly desert, but it started getting greener and greener the further north we drove (we were heading toward Bakersfield to stay the night). We did pass through this very hilly part of California where we saw rows after rows of windmills. You know, those white, tall things that are supposedly there to generate electricity or something like that. Maybe it's something to do with solar... I'm just not sure. Which I should be considering it does have something to do with the environment and making the world go round in a better way... kind of like hybrid cars... kind of. Why not leave that in the comment section as well if you know what these mysterious windmill's purposes are.

As the first day came to an end, we docked in Bakersfield to spend the night. It really was more to take a rest. We got some gas, picked up some yum-yums from the gas station store, and checked into the hotel. There, we showered (both the dogs and ourselves) and watched some TV- the cutest show ever: Too Cute! It's the most adorable puppy show that's name it a total understatement to the show itself! (Our pups were totally jealous!) After that show was over, we fell asleep for maybe a good 5 hours when we suddenly awoke, looked at each other, and got on the rode again. Of course, this was at about 4 o'clock in the morning and we were all hyped up on adrenaline! About an hour into it, we had to stop and get some caffeine to stay awake!

We drove and drove as the weather got cooler, the the grass got greener, and ground got hillier. We started to see rows an rows of- not white windmills, but trees and produce grown for farming. SO GORGEOUS!

So we drove and drove some more until we ended up at our destination. Mouths open, minds emptied, and hearts swollen, we have finally arrived to home. Our new home. And boy are we happy to be here! I don't see us going anywhere anytime soon. We just are so in love!

So that is basically my weekend! Probably the best weekend of my life. Definitely going down in the scrapbook! The day when I arrived home :) Amazing.
